Major paint companies and design experts have predicted which shades will become big next year. If you’re looking to freshen up your home, take note of these hues.

Warm neutrals

Warm neutrals embrace wellness and comfort. Behr named Blank Canvas as its Color of the Year for 2023. This shade of white is really simple to bring in other colours, textures, patterns, and materials.

Vibrant reds

While cool tones have been trending for years, the world now seems more ready for warmer colours. Red is making a bold comeback in the coming year. If you’re afraid of taking the plunge, try pairing red accents with neutrals to bring more of an emphasis to the colour.

Warm pinks

For less intensity but still retaining some warmth, a medium-dark sand pink or shades with soft coral undertones can almost act as a neutral shade. Warm pinks are versatile and can work with a variety of other colours, especially those also on the warmer side of the colour spectrum.

Greige and ocher

Moodier neutrals seem to be gaining popularity in interiors, likely as a reaction to the long-popular bright whites and cool, silvery greys. Raw, organic materials, and tones such as brown ocher, offer a cosy yet modern grounding base.

Jewel tones

The pastel blues and greens of the past year are now transitioning into deeper, darker blue-greens that have an elegant yet cosy and welcoming vibe. For example, a handsome aqua-emerald, Vining Ivy by PPG and Glidden can be used to create a snug bedroom as an accent colour in a kitchen.
